Fourth Weigh In Tomorrow, Why Am I Nervous?

I guess it's good that I'm nervous about my weigh in results tomorrow. I think about it every day during the week which gives me more motivation to stay on track. I know I shouldn't be concerned with the numbers. It's a long journey and over time my body will release the weight if I eat right and stay to plan... but I just can't help myself.

Last Saturday and Sunday my calorie counts were between 2000-2100. For the rest of the week I kept it to 1700-1800 each day. I was told by a friend that following this type of "cycle" would keep my body guessing and help keep my metabolism cranking. We shall see.

If I had exercised more this past week that would have helped too. I'm going to hit the treadmill today which will make it 3 times for the week and meets my goal.

  1. Everyone has their own motivators. If that works for you, go with it.

Any change that starts with a minus sign is a good change :-)

  4. I agree that you're weigh in will be just fine.
And i disagree with your friends advise in the calories. At Weight Watchers, they tell you to save 'points' when you know you are going to have a high calorie event, and they are experts. As long as your calories aren't dramaticaly up and down [like by 1000] i wouldn't worry about it, You're doing great :o)

  6. I get really nervous around weigh-ins too. I get so excited to see how my hard work is paying off as the week goes on, but I'm always afraid that no movement on the scale will make me feel like I shouldn't bother trying.

I've been focusing a lot lately on forming habits. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit, so I went to the gym 21 days in a row. No excuses.

Keep up the good work and good luck tomorrow. I'll be watching.

  7. Don't be nervous. It is what it is. If it's a good weigh in then you can celebrate! And if it's a bad one then you know you need to work harder next week. Either way, right now you can't do much to change it.
