February 6, 2010 Weigh In: 417 lbs, Lost 2 lbs

The snow is falling and so is my body mass. This week I was able to shed 2 pounds. Today marks the 30th day of my weight loss journey and I'm pleased to report I've lost 15 pounds so far. 15 just seems like a nice round number, a good first step if you will. 20 will be the next number I'll be seeking.

As I blogged yesterday I will be stepping up the exercise this coming week. I'll start today by shoveling a bit of snow... my two boys will do most of it. At least I'll be out there burning some calories and using some muscles.

Super Bowl party on the calendar for tomorrow and I'll have to work out a plan for that.

  1. Awesome job, That is an average of over 4 lbs a week loss! Shoveling snow is AWESOME exercise, you would be surprised how efficiently you burn calories. There are websites you can go to like to calculate how many calories you burn doing activities like that.

  2. Two pounds! Fantastic! Shoveling snow is no fun (I remember it well form my days in northern NY) but great exercise. Watch out at the Super Bowl party. I am bringing a big pot of vegetarian chili to the one I'm attending. That way I know there will be something I can eat.

    Don't over do the shoveling.

  6. Great job on the loss ETL, you beat me by 0.1pounds this week! Like you I've got a lot of snow here (western VA). I shoveled last weekend and this morning I spent 4 hours shoveling and sledding with the kids. It's definitely a great workout!
