I Took A Good Look In The Mirror This Morning...

and I didn't like what I saw. I saw a guy who was totally committed a few months ago and is now at that point were I'm saying to myself "I've got to get back on track". I haven't gained back but I haven't lost either. Today I am clearing away all the crap in my head and just doing it. Today I am becoming a "warrior". Today I am committing myself to my goal. I must get down to 220 pounds. I must do it in a healthy manner. I must do it. So here is my new short term goal. I am going to lose 20 more pounds by June 1st. Period, End of Story!

  1. 20 pounds is only 5% that should be easy for you in that amount of time, just do it.

  2. You can so do it!!! We are cheering for you! I am glad you had a good talkin' with yourself this morning! :)

  3. I am rooting for you! You "will" do it!

  4. You know, we all go through the "honeymoon is over" phase...and pick ourselves up and start the next stage. Keep blogging...we're all here for you.

  5. It is hard to get back in the groove once you have been derailed. In the past when it happened I would just throw in the tall and give in to the crap. That is why I think this time I am a different person. I don't let getting off track a little get to me. I just get up again and do what I know works. 20 lbs. is a lofty goal but if you put your all into it I think you will have no trouble doing it. Best of luck to you and have a great weekend!

  6. Recommit to the goal. I'm going through that now and it's tough.

    Do it. It's worth it.

  7. The weight is important. We all want the weight off. But the weight is not the most important part. The newer, healthier choices are the most important part. Those healthy choices will do more for us in the long haul.

Glad to hear you're back on track!

p.s. I'm just concerned you're trying to focus on the grand gesture. I don't want you to feel defeated if something happens. Focus on your health and your weight will follow (as in fall away).

  8. I found your blog while searching on Dr. Fuhrman's book Eat to Live. I would highly recommed reading that book and also his book Eat for Health. These are wonderful weightloss books. Here are some links I think you might like:

  9. Grab a hold and don't let go!! This is WAY too important. Your life is way too important. I'm glad to hear you're re-committing....good for you babe! :)

  10. ETL, Warrior mentality, I like that.

Came across your blog this evening while checking out others that are working at losing weight. Been blogging my experience almost two weeks now, wow I never knew blogging could be a help in this mission. But truly it has.

I like your definitions you have here; "Freestyle Eater" & "Controlled Eater"... I am an admitted Freestyle Eater who is trying to break that behavior.

Congrats on your success so far; looking forward to following along tith you here.

  11. ETL, hey there, just checking in. How's the progress been the past week plus? Like that warrior mentality approach, great way to commit or re-commit.

  12. I hope things are going better for you. I'm struggling myself, it's so easy to fall off the wagon than get back on it. I wish you the very best with your goal! :)
