I'm Still Here... I Need A Push!

Have I lost my way on my quest to become healthier? No.
Have I stopped being responsible about my food choices? No.
Have I stopped thinking about losing weight? No.
Have I lost more weight since my last weigh in? No.

I was gung ho the first two months. Then I hit my weight loss hit a wall and at the same time I became distracted by live activities. I can't make excuses though I have to get back to "gung ho" status. Honestly, I've had a few unauthorized snacks here and there but my weight is currently at 409 lbs which is where I was a few weeks ago... and the lowest I've been since I started the journey.

I think about it everyday and I have not had any fast food, diet drinks or free style binges at all. But.. I have to get back to daily recording of calories and exercising. I don't want to spin back up to where I was. I want to go down. I want to be thin. This is the hard time I guess. Getting the second wind. I don't want to fail and I don't want status quo. I want to wear size 36 pants again.

  1. Take a hard look at what you were doing earlier and the modifications you've made. At your size, you should still be able to manufacture good losses if you eat right and work hard on the exercise front. The key to that is to make it an everyday (for the most part) occurrence and continually push yourself a little more. A little more intense or a little bit longer. It's not easy, but it is doable and it is so very worth it.

    Good luck.

  2. keeping some set levels and a consistent schedule of movement is very important. You can do this---you've proven that...and those size 36 jeans are waiting my friend.

    You can choose this,

  4. You can do it! You know what you need to do. Get back to tracking what you eat and how you exercise and you will be back on the right road. Well done for not falling off the wagon so-to-speak!

  5. Remember your last post; Warrior mentality! Sounds like you need to get an "emotional investment" to ignite this second wind. What does it for you? For me when I know I gotta do something and can't seem to get motivated for it I look to get mad. When I am mad I perform quite well. When I started this mission I am on now I floundered for two weeks. I had said I wanted to lose pounds but wasn't truly serious. Then after two weeks and realizing I was being a putz about it I started to get upset with myself. That led me to ask if I really wanted to do this and why and that was the match my fuse needed. I started listing all things I dislike and don’t want about being fat. And let me tell, that lit my fuse and I got really mad at myself and I got serious instantly, The next day I started my blog (stop by and check it out - http://responsibility199.blogspot.com/ ) and I have been on a high since. So I am not saying you have to get mad. It worked for me but may not be your thing. But you may very well need to find that 'thing' that will give you the "emotional investment" needed to get that second wind on its way.

  6. You can do it! I've lost 76 lbs. and since January 2010 it has been an up hill battle. Want to lose about 45 more. Haven't gained more than a few lbs, but haven't lost as much as I planned.

Jump back in and you'll feel so much better!

  7. You are going through exactly what I am going through. This is where it gets hard. The bravado we had when we started has run out and life has started to seep in and reconfigure our priorities. This is where we "fake it until we make it". You can so do this, you have to. Dont say things like "I don't want to spin back up to where I was." Say reinforcing things like "I will never spin back up to 427lbs." It might sound silly reading it but it helps me when I feel like quitting and running to the nearest Taco Bell. I will never ever be 417.8lbs again. This may take us forever, but that doesn't mean we will lose. I know I talk about it in terms of an epic battle, but I kinda feel like it is.

This will not be the last time you feel this way, so get up and get moving. There is no better way to fight this than to just do what needs to be done until you are officially out of the dumps! :)

  9. Go exercise right now. Go for a walk, do the treadmill, just do something. Make sure you're getting your water too.

Get off your butt right now and go. There's your push.

Stay strong. I'm rooting for you

  12. This is a journey and we can't get down when we veer off the path. It has to be a lifestyle change, so don't let yourself get discouraged if you have an off day. Tomorrow is a new day, and so is the next. You can do it. We are all here for support and it is great that you are sharing. Good luck to you.

  13. I just got back from the beach a few days ago and I'm still trying to catch up with everyone. The first thing I noticed on my sidebar is that you haven't posted in a week. I just cannot express to you enough how important consistent blogging is. You're going to have to actually do it to realize the amazing benefits and support it will give you, not to mention the sense of community and the inspiration you'll get from others when you feel yourself lagging. I highly encourage you to post at least every couple of days...please try to do this!!

Also, have you fully realized that you're only 10 lbs away from being out of the 400's forever? Actually only 9.2 lbs!!! If that isn't motivation to kick it into high gear, I don't know what is!!!

You know you can do this babe. You know you can. The desire is there. The capability is there. Just get your priorities in order and your attitude in the right place...put your head down and get it done. And I think I've told you this before, but you really have to start making exercise as routine as brushing your teeth every morning. Seriously. Walking 30 mins a day is just something you do....not something you think about or lament over or "try" to make time for....it's just something you do. I believe in you whole-heartedly. When you first started this blog, I had NO DOUBT that you would be one of the ones who makes it all the way. I still believe that, and I'm waiting for you to kick it into high gear! And I fully expect to see another post from you VERY SOON!!! :)
